Celebrating all things Utica this fall

"This is a really meaningful time for Utica University.”

There’s a big lineup of events slated for Utica University as the fall season approaches.

The end of September brings Inauguration and Homecoming Weekend, which kicks off Wednesday, September 30, with the Community Dinner. That evening, attendees will go back to where Utica University’s story began to commemorate and recreate a very special moment in the institution’s history. For more information about the Community Dinner or to register, click here. Registration closes Friday, September 25 at noon.

The following day, the celebration of all things Utica continues at the Presidential Installation Ceremony of Dr. Stephanie Nesbitt.

“While this will be a personally meaningful day for me, it is even more meaningful because presidential installations are a time for the University community to come together, celebrate our history and traditions, and look ahead to our future,” President Nesbitt says. “We’re also going to make that entire week a celebration. We’re expanding our new Spirit Fridays tradition into a full Spirit Week, with several special theme days planned throughout the week leading up to The Community Dinner, Installation, and Homecoming.”

That campus-wide celebration includes:

Monday, September 28 – Orange Up! – The primary color of the day is Pioneer orange.
Tuesday, September 29 – Dress Like the Pres – Are you Pioneer enough to style your favorite Utica University t-shirt with a blazer, jeans, and sneakers?
Wednesday, September 30 – Blue Up! – The primary color of the day is Pioneer blue.
Thursday, October 1 – Anything Pioneer! – Show your Pioneer pride with anything and everything Pioneer.
Friday, October 2 – Rep Your Org, Department, or Team – Send out some love to your favorite Pioneer org, department, or team and wear your org, department, or team gear.

“I hope you’ll join in, show your Pioneer pride, and help make the campus feel especially festive as we celebrate this important moment in our University’s history,” says President Nesbitt. “These events are a wonderful lead-in to an exciting Homecoming Weekend. Judging by our registration numbers, there is a lot of shared excitement, and it promises to be an absolutely incredible weekend.”

But wait – that’s not all.

Utica University will be hosting several other events that are quickly approaching this fall.

Fall admissions open houses are scheduled for October 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and November 11 from 12:30-6 p.m. In addition, the Admissions team is planning a new event this year called Mohawk Valley U-Nite, a campus visit event exclusively for prospective students and families from the Mohawk Valley. This event will be held October 21 from 5-7 p.m. and will include a barbecue with our faculty and staff, as well as several home athletic contests.

“From The Community Dinner, when we’ll look back at where our University began, to the Installation ceremony and Homecoming Weekend, when we’ll celebrate who we are as a University community and look ahead to where we’re going, this is a really meaningful time for Utica University,” President Nesbitt says. “And as we turn our attention to welcoming prospective students and their families this fall, I’m grateful for the way our faculty and staff continue to show up for this University.”
